Paper
There's something addictive about newspapers. It's as if the ink gets in your blood. I personally am drawn to the challenge of crafting tight, clean prose that also manage to attract and maintain a reader's attention. I also try to educate, and entertain when possible. But I'm just as addicted to design--piecing together a sharp configuration of shapes and taking on the art of headline writing.
The moving image is now used for everything from the internet to phones--including Dick Tracy-style wristwatch communicators. However, I prefer to study the medium that has remained fairly constant since it established its conventions over 100 years ago--cinema, the cultural engine of the American Century.
